OUR STORY
Fenwyr Cellars is a Meadery located in Spokane Washington. We make mead, also known as honey wine. We chose to start our Meadery in Spokane because of its growing wine and micro-brew culture and with the lack of Meaderies, we believe that Fenwyr Cellars will make an excellent addition to this culture.
Fenwyr Cellars is a member managed LLC or Limited Liability Company. Principle Members are Daniel Jessee, Jamie Friedman Jessee, Thomas Phillip and Stephanie Grochowicz.
In 2011 Daniel got the idea to create Fenwyr Cellars and worked out the concept for it. In 2012, after deciding with his wife Jamie Friedman-Jessee, he contacted Thomas Phillip and Stephanie Grochowicz and started the work of transforming Fenwyr Cellars from an idea into a reality.
In Nov 2012, Fenwyr Cellars was formally founded by Daniel Jessee, wife Jamie Friedman-Jessee, Thomas Phillip and Stephanie Grochowicz.
Our Production is currently on hold as we are looking for financing to continue operations.
Our Master Mead Maker has created 8 amazing recipes with a wide variety of flavors that suit the palate of any individual. Batches are currently small but we hope to increase to larger sizes so we can begin distribution to stores, wine bars and specialty shops.
Master Mead Maker: Daniel Jessee
Daniel Jessee is our Master Mead Maker. He began brewing mead more than 12 years ago as a hobby. He is constantly testing new flavors and exciting cominations of fruits, spices and in some cases hot peppers for new meads. He specializes in traditional meads as well as Melomels, Metheglins, Pyments and Cysers. Daniel has won several awards with mead he has entered into the Spokane interstate fair including 1st place and reserve Grand Champion for his Sweet Mead Recipe 2 years running.
Daniel is happily married to Jamie Friedman-Jessee and has 2 amazing step children Sage and Owen. He currently works full time outside the meadery to support his family while the Meadery gets going. Daniel is a driven and dedicated mead maker with a prodigious passion for flavor and quality.
He spends many hours usually late in the evening checking on fermenting mead, tasting and adjusting each batch until they are perfect.
Administration: Jamie Friedman-Jessee
Jamie handles all our book keeping, record keeping sales reporting, taxes and auditing duties. She also assists with various tasks at the meadery.
Jamie is happily married to Daniel Jessee and has 2 beautiful children.
Jamie works part time as an in home caregiver for the elderly. Jamie is a happy person with an altruistic personality and always bears a smile and positive attitude that is downright infectious.
Sales & Marketing: Stephanie Grochowicz
Stephanie Grochowicz heads our Sales & Marketing front looking for new streams to get word out about Fenwyr Cellars. She also is working on getting us contacts with honey suppliers so we can better support the local economy. Stephanie also assists with tasks at the meadery.
Stephanie is a wife and proud mom to a beautiful baby boy. She is an energetic and kinetic person always willing to explore new ideas that will help the meadery advance wherever needed.
